Inspected by the Ministry of Home Affairs Inspectorate for 2 Hours, Lucky Hakim Apologizes - Ready to Face Governor Dedi Mulyadi

The name Lucky Hakim has recently become a topic of conversation due to his vacation in Japan, which was apparently taken without permission from the Ministry of Home Affairs. Lucky admitted that he has just been questioned by the Inspectorate of the Ministry of Home Affairs regarding his trip abroad during the joint holiday period for Eid.

"I was just questioned at the Inspectorate of the Ministry of Home Affairs, I have communicated with Mr. Governor, Mr. Dedi Mulyadi and hopefully tomorrow afternoon I will go to Bandung to meet him as well," said Lucky Hakim when met at the Ministry of Home Affairs, Central Jakarta, Tuesday (8/4/2025).

During the examination process, Lucky was asked dozens of questions regarding his departure, from the schedule to the facilities used.

"There were about 43 questions, it took more than 2 hours regarding generally when I departed, then what facilities I used, I explained that I left on April 2 and returned to Indonesia on April 7, not using state facilities, personal funds, and there is no connection at all with the local government during the joint holiday," he said.

According to Lucky, what the Ministry of Home Affairs is looking for is whether he used state facilities or funds from the regional budget (APBD) while in Japan."So that's what is being investigated, whether I used official travel, whether the budget money is from the APBD, no, I showed the evidence, this I used to buy personal tickets, I also went there with family so I did not bring along aides or assistants or special staff," he explained.

He also stated that during the trip, everything was self-funded and no state facilities were used, even for transportation to and from the airport.

"Even to the airport I was not escorted. From the airport, I also was not picked up by state facilities. So this is purely a family vacation, going with family using personal funds. That is what I explained and I provided the evidence," Lucky revealed.

Regarding the permit that was not submitted to the Minister of Home Affairs, Lucky admitted that it was purely his mistake for not fully understanding the details of the regulations. "Yes, I went without bringing a permit letter from the Minister of Home Affairs. But here, this is my fault, I certainly apologize, especially to the people of Indramayu, to my community as well, this is purely my mistake too, maybe I was not aware that the permit in question was for going abroad," he said.

This 45-year-old man thought that a permit was only needed when traveling on weekdays, not during national holidays. "What I meant was a permit for going abroad on weekdays. So that's a difference in assumptions. I was wrong, because I assumed, I should have read more carefully, because I read and it was indeed prohibited to go abroad and then the clause below it states 7 consecutive days," he said.

He feels that he has followed the rules because he left when the office was closed and returned before the first working day started. "Well, my assumption is that it's a working day, so I left from the date which means h+2, until before today. Today is a working day. So I thought that it was not a working day, that's why I went with personal funds. This is my mistake," said Lucky.

He also added that during the holiday, government offices in Indramayu are indeed closed, except for health services. "That's correct. That's why I came to apologize here because of that. When the regional head has no holiday, but in the district itself, all staff are on holiday, the inspectorate office is closed, the police station is closed, everything is closed except for community health centers and hospitals," he said.

Before leaving, Lucky also held an open house and monitored the homecoming activities from the pendopo. "So I was at the pendopo itself, even on the day of Eid I held an open house, receiving many guests, then the staff and heads of departments said goodbye to return to their respective villages, some went to relatives. And I continued to monitor the traffic until the second day before leaving for Jakarta," he explained.

"So on the first day of Eid, I was still with the community, the next day I was still at the office but there was no one else except my personal aide, there was Mas Salman who was not funded by the state. And that’s where my assumption came from, yes the office was closed, there were no people, this was a joint holiday, I left and went home before the office opened. It turned out that was wrong. So I apologize," he concluded.
