When met in the Tebet area, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (27/8/2025), Jaja's father reminisced about his difficult times when Malay music or dangdut was still looked down upon.

"At that time, artists were really ridiculed, artists back then. Oh, especially those known as the Malay Dangdut Orchestra, they were really mocked," he recalled.

Long before knowing fees worth millions, Jaja Miharja even experienced being paid not with money, but with agricultural products. This experience is proof of how hard the struggle of artists was in the past. "Paid with eggs already," he stated.

He recounted his experience performing in Brebes and only receiving payment in the form of crates of eggs. To turn it into money, he and his colleagues had to sell the eggs at every market they passed on their way back to Jakarta.

"From the start in Brebes, we went home, stopping at every market, selling eggs. Yes, until they were all gone, until we finished in Jakarta," he said.

His long struggle has now paid off completely. He also gives a deep message to young artists not to give up easily in pursuing their dreams.

"That's why people, if someone has one job, focus on it. This is for the younger generation, focus on it. For example, if you want to be something, keep going," his message.
