Jane Shalimar Blames KUA Karawang for Her Unrecognized Marriage with Arsya Wijaya

Kapanlagi.com - The marriage of Jane Shalimar and Arsya Wijaya, which took place on February 20, 2020, is apparently not legally recognized by the country. Therefore, Jane Shalimar's party is unhappy with the requirements set by the KUA Karawang.

"Today, we strongly object and feel disadvantaged by the actions of the KUA. The KUA cannot wash their hands of this matter, as if it is a problem between our client and Cecep," said Jane Shalimar's legal representative, Ramdhan Alamsyah, when met in the Bintaro area, South Tangerang, on Tuesday (12/1).

1. There is a File Withdrawal

According to him, the circulating information regarding Cecep still using his Identity Card (KTP) with the status of still being married to his ex-wife, has not yet changed the status to widower before marrying Jane. When asked to complete the marriage requirements, Cecep instead withdrew some files from the Office of Religious Affairs.

"We received information from the Office of Religious Affairs that there was a file withdrawal conducted by Mister Cecep regarding the change of marital status on his KTP. Why hasn't it been changed? Because Mister Cecep said his KTP has been cut. This is what harms our client," said Ramdhan.

2. The Office of Religious Affairs Attends Jane's Wedding

Ramdhan also questioned the availability of the Office of Religious Affairs to attend Jane and Cecep's wedding at that time, which had not yet completed the marriage requirements. Not only that, he also questioned the state documents signed by Jane and Cecep, as they are related to Jane and Cecep's marriage book that cannot be issued due to the lack of requirements, namely Cecep's KTP.

"If it is indeed incomplete (marriage documents), why did the Office of Religious Affairs attend Jane's wedding? Jane has signed state documents. It's not about the marriage book, but the administration. " he said.

"Each page has a registration number, and that number is the same as the marriage book. Why is it officially recorded in the document but they refuse to issue the marriage book with the reason of the KTP?" continued Ramdhan.

3. KUA Teledor

According to Ramdhan, there was negligence on the part of the KUA in handling the marriage of Jane Shalimar and Cecep. Of course, he requested accountability from KUA Karawang in this case.

"This is what I call negligence on the part of the KUA, and the KUA must take responsibility and not wash their hands," he concluded.
