Jessica Iskandar Tells the Story of Don's Hysterical Drama During Vaccination

Jessica Iskandar has just shared a unique and energy-draining story about taking her youngest son, Don, to the doctor. It turns out that Don has an incredible fear of syringes, which led to drama during the vaccination process. This incident even became a hot topic of discussion on her personal YouTube channel.

Jedar mentioned that Don's fear appeared even before the syringe was brought out by the medical team. Don apparently has a strong memory of the doctor's face who has treated him since he was a baby. As soon as he saw the doctor, Don immediately showed an extraordinary fear reaction.

"Yes, it's normal for kids to cry when they see a syringe. And coincidentally, we have never changed doctors since El Barack was born, so now every time we go to the doctor, he recognizes the doctor's face," said Jessica Iskandar when met in the Thamrin area, Central Jakarta, some time ago.

The use of the same doctor since the birth of his first son has another side to Don's memory. The toddler seems to have embodied the figure of that doctor as the person who will give him injections. Jedar recounts how Don can become very hysterical every time he enters that doctor's practice room. "So every time he meets the doctor, he definitely gets hysterical," Jedar said while laughing, reminiscing about that moment.

Aside from the vaccination drama, Jedar also explained how she maintains her child's social interaction in the neighborhood around their home. Although there was an incident where Don mimicked some harsh words, Jedar does not want to restrict her child too rigidly. She still wants Don to grow up to be a child who can socialize with anyone without fear.

Jedar continues to implement strict supervision by assigning a housekeeper or nurse to monitor Don while playing outside. This has proven effective because she can receive immediate reports if Don starts to imitate bad behavior from his friends.

"Yes, my hope is that Don can socialize and play with anyone. But still, as Don's mom, I will definitely wait for him when he plays outside. That's why there are reports like that because my housekeeper heard Don playing like that and immediately informed me," she explained.

To provide a deterrent effect, Jedar has a disciplinary method called 'pause'. If Don makes a mistake while playing outside, Jedar will not allow him to go out for a while. This method is considered effective so that Don can learn to distinguish which behaviors are allowed and which are not. "Don, if you play outside with your friends and say things like that, Mama won't allow it. Later, when Don can understand and learn, he can play again, for example next week. So there's a gap like that so the kids can know, oh this is really not allowed," she explained about the discipline method.

Jessica Iskandar's parenting style indeed combines freedom and responsibility in a balanced way. She wants the foundation of her children's future to be built on a strong understanding of social ethics. Despite being full of drama, Jedar enjoys every moment of her children's growth and development.

Don, who was born in 2022, is now in a golden period where he quickly absorbs information from his surroundings. Therefore, Jedar works extra hard to be a good filter for everything that enters her child's mind. Patience is Jedar's key in dealing with Don's behavior.
