Just Two Weeks as a Father, Thariq Halilintar Shares the Challenges of Adapting: I'm Still Learning a Lot

Kapanlagi.com - Thariq Halilintar is undergoing a new phase as a father. Just two weeks since the birth of his son, Ahmad Arash Omara Thariq, he admits he is still in the process of adapting to understand his new role.

When met in the Pondok Indah area, South Jakarta, on Friday (27/6/2025), Thariq shared stories about the challenges he faced during the first two weeks of being a parent.

"I'm still learning a lot about the adaptation honestly even until now. How to be a father and so on, asking a lot of questions and spending more time to understand, so I've been mostly at home these past 2 weeks," said Thariq.

1. Getting Used to Staying Up Late

The role of a father does not keep him away from nighttime activities. Thariq admits he is starting to get used to staying up late to accompany Aaliyah and the little one.

"Yes, that's true," he replied briefly when asked if he has gotten used to staying up late.

2. Accompanying and Helping Aaliyah

Although he cannot breastfeed, Thariq remains actively involved in accompanying and helping Aaliyah. He states that his main duty is to provide full support for his wife.

"Dividing the time? Because I can't breastfeed, so it seems like we just accompany, support, and help, you know, and if, well, that's it," he explained.

3. Salute to His Wife's Efforts

Thariq also considers Aaliyah to be a 'hands-on' mother, directly taking care of the baby without hesitation. He is even impressed with Aaliyah's efforts to enrich her knowledge as a young mother.

"Yes, she is very hands-on, she (Aaliyah) reads a lot and learns a lot, so she doesn’t seem too awkward or anything like that from what I see, so she knows a lot already," he said.

4. A Learning Experience

In the last two weeks, Thariq admitted that he hasn't really returned to his work routine. However, starting next week, he is preparing to be active again.

The initial phase of being a father has become a learning experience for Thariq. He feels that these moments are very precious and strives to be fully present for his family.

"I haven't been honest (about work). This Monday I will be very active at work again, so yesterday was just a few times just to see the developments," he explained.
