Kaka Slank Wants to Eat What He Grows, Cultivates Half a Hectare for Farming

Kapanlagi.com - The vocalist of Slank, Akhadi Wira Satriaji or better known as Kaka, turns out to have a unique activity outside the music world. He manages less than half a hectare of land in Bogor to grow rice and vegetables. For Kaka, this is not just a hobby, but an effort to live more independently and healthily.

"My dream is to eat from what I grow. Now there are rice fields, corn, and vegetables, so I just need to buy seasonings and side dishes like tempeh and tofu. If the vegetables are ready," said Kaka when met in the Kalibata area of South Jakarta recently.

1. Collaborating with Local Residents

He also emphasized that the results from the land are solely for personal needs, not for sale.

"No way, just for me, haha," he said.

In the management process, Kaka involves local residents. He collaborates with friends and farmers in the village to cultivate his organic land.

2. Wants to Implement a Healthy Lifestyle

"There are local villagers and friends, I employ the farmers around me," he explained.

As a vegetarian and vegan, Kaka admits that his main motivation is a healthy lifestyle.

"Because I’m a vegetarian, vegan, I feel like I didn’t know, and then suddenly my mindset changed, it’s also fun to eat from what’s around your house, you know," he said.

3. Use Organic Farming Methods

Kaka also chooses organic farming methods, without chemicals. Although the harvest is not maximal, he is still satisfied with its quality.

"No chemicals used, just the results are not too tall, stunted, just clean. You can pick it without needing to wash it, just eat it, there are no chemicals," Kaka explained.

4. Farming Becomes Stress Healing

In addition, Kaka admits that this farming activity is also a way for him to heal. For him, planting provides tranquility amidst the busyness of being a musician.

"Of course, for healing," he concluded.
