Before dating Maxime Bouttier, Luna Maya had actually dated a man whose identity is kept secret. Luna revealed this fact while being a guest on the YouTube channel of Marella Muwanto and Yumi Kwandi, released on May 2, 2025.
In front of Maxime, Luna admitted that she and her ex had a serious relationship. In fact, Luna was proposed to by her boyfriend, who she mentioned is now married.
Luna Maya turns out to have had a boyfriend that she did not publicize. Luna's relationship with that man was even serious; the actress was once proposed to, and they dated for 2.5 years.
Luna, who is soon to marry Maxime Bouttier, revealed that she has been proposed to before. Maxime also knows who the man that proposed to her is.
"I have never been this happy saying yes to someone who proposed to me," said Luna. This statement made Maxime blush. "I mean, you know I've been proposed to before too. There was (the person). But I never posted about it. I kept it quiet," Luna said while being a guest on the YouTube podcast of Marella Mulwanto and Yumi Kwandi.
When pressed about the initials, Luna dodged. "It's no longer important, the person is already married," said Luna. "What I mean is, that moment happened when I, somehow I knew like, yeah I accepted it but it seemed like this was just to, well, for the sake of maintaining the relationship, just get married, you know," she continued.
"It felt like a demand. Well, since there's someone who wants to propose to me. Well, I just went for it, you know. But after a few years. I mean, I dated this guy for 2.5 years, you know. But eventually, I returned the ring. It felt like something was wrong. Like, umm it seems I don't want to be with this person for the rest of my life. Because somehow, when that happened. It felt like my heart was still uurgh. It's not about being ready, if asked about age, I'm ready. It seems I just haven't met the right one," Luna explained.
"So in that moment, I felt like oh yeah, that's right. If it doesn't feel right, don't just agree to something because of age and circumstances," said Luna. She and her ex then decided to part ways, and Luna's ex is now married. "We ended things on good terms, I returned the ring. Yes, he has married his new partner. Just a month ago he got married," explained Luna.
Luna is now ready to marry Maxime Bouttier and she also feels happy because her ex has found his life partner. "So it's good for him too, to find someone who is truly compatible, it's fair for him," Luna added.
