Maia Estianty is saddened by the incident that has been going viral on timelines since Thursday (28/08) night until Friday (29/08) morning.
"If it’s like this, who should we blame? Watching a video briefly, the clash of the demonstration at the DPR and then the incident of a BRIMOB armored vehicle running over an ojol driver, it’s heartbreaking and sad, Oh God, how could it come to this," wrote the mother of Al, El, & Dul.
Maia realizes that all demonstrations indeed need to be guarded by the authorities. However, Maia stated that the actions of the authorities have gone beyond limits.
"What I overlooked when watching the video is that demonstrations must be protected by the authorities, but if the actions are arbitrary, that is beyond reason," she continued.
Maia prays for the ojol driver named Affan who passed away due to the incident to be accepted in the best place by Him & for the family left behind to be given strength.
"Ojol driver Affan Kurniawan, may your soul be accepted by Allah SWT. May the family left behind be granted extraordinary sincerity and patience," Maia continued.
Maia then criticized the actions of the authorities that could potentially incite public anger. As a citizen, Maia admitted she could only pray.
"And the officers on duty, incidents like this could actually make many citizens even more furious. And I am just an ordinary citizen who can only pray and at the same time be stunned," Maia concluded.
