Kapanlagi.com - Manoj Punjabi, CEO of MD Entertainment, is once again showing his ambition to dominate the Indonesian film industry. Not satisfied with only succeeding in the drama and horror genres, he is now seriously targeting the comedy market.
Manoj's latest step is to produce the film GAK ADA MATINYA, which is being approached differently from previous MD Pictures films. At the press conference for the teaser poster launch of the film, he emphasized his desire for MD Pictures not to be trapped in the stereotypes of certain genres.

Manoj wants his production house to have a broader and fresher color variation. To realize this, he collaborates with comedian and talented filmmaker, Muhadkly Acho, as the creative producer.
"MD wants to spread its wings. Let’s not just stick to the same stereotypes. MD wants to have a new color. We need extraordinary talent to elevate MD. Creatively, I hand over GAK ADA MATINYA to Acho," Manoj Punjabi confidently stated.
Manoj's trust in Acho is not without reason. Previously, Acho successfully directed the series INDUK GAJAH which aired on Amazon Prime and received positive feedback. This time, Manoj gives Acho full freedom to explore "wild" ideas in GAK ADA MATINYA.
"This is my first time as a producer. This is a comedy that I have never made before. Mr. Manoj has given me the freedom to create something as 'wild' as possible. This will be something very different from MD Pictures," Acho said, welcoming the challenge.
This film carries a unique dark comedy concept, telling the story of a child who hopes his father dies for the insurance money, but the father instead rises from the dead. The story is wrapped in family conflict and relevant social criticism.

To ensure the quality of the film, Manoj does not want to compromise on the casting. This film features a star-studded cast across generations and genres, from character actor Mathias Muchus, drama specialist Fedi Nuril, to comedians Oki Rengga and Lolox.
"We do not want to compromise on main talent, supporting talent, etc. This concept and its potential are already significant, the execution must also be grand. It may not guarantee box office success, but hopefully, it lives up to its title: Gak Ada Matinya," Manoj concluded optimistically.
The film GAK ADA MATINYA tells the story of Binsar, a child who is burdened by debt and hopes for his father's life insurance money. However, Binsar's plan falls apart when his father, who was thought to be dead, turns out to be in a coma and comes back to life. This film, full of comedic intrigue and family drama, is scheduled to be released in theaters in 2026.
