Many Musicians Caught in Drug Abuse, Rian D'Masiv Concerned and Prays that They Won't be Dependent Again

Kapanlagi.com - In the span of one month, three musicians have been caught for drug consumption. Starting from Anton, the drummer of the band Jrocks, Jaka Hidayat, the drummer of the band Smailing Jendral who is also a former member of BIP, and singer Reza Artamevia.

Seeing this, the vocalist of the band D'Masiv, Rian, admitted to being shocked and concerned about the incidents experienced by these musicians.

"I was really shocked and concerned. Especially when it happened during times like these. It was quite surprising. I saw it from the news, there was news about Reza's arrest, and I just pray that they can quickly recover, resume their activities, and sing again," said Rian at Musica Studio, South Jakarta, on Monday (9/7/2020).

1. Depends on Each Individual

There are several musicians who were caught using drugs, claiming that there were no usual activities during the pandemic. For Rian, such excuses should be directed back to the individuals themselves. What is clear is that as long as it is prohibited, it is best not to use such substances.

"It's called illegal drugs. Actually, we are not allowed to consume them. We should have known that it is prohibited. But we never know that everyone has their own problems. What we should do now is to pray for them to get healthy again, to live a clean life like before," he said.

2. Not Only Musicians

According to Rian, anyone can become addicted to drugs. It's not just about being a musician.

"Anyone can become addicted to drugs, regardless of their profession. Any profession can lead to drug addiction. So, it all comes back to us, we should know that drugs are not good. Not to mention the heavy punishment," he said.

"Well, not long ago, the drummer of J Rocks, Anton, was also affected. Honestly, it's concerning and sad. Some friends have to go through that. But we can't do anything once they are caught. So, all we can do is pray for them to recover, to resume their usual activities, and to no longer be dependent," Rian added.

3. D'Masiv Personnel Never Touch Drugs

Fortunately, the D'Masiv personnel themselves have never tried or touched any kind of drugs. According to them, if caught, many people will be affected.

"Thank God we have never touched those things. Thank God it's like that. So we already know the risks and the heavy and wide impact if we get caught because many people will suffer losses. Not only family, but also crew members and others," Rian concluded.
