Melly Goeslaw Wants to be a Player in 'SUZZANNA: MALAM JUMAT KLIWON', Doesn't Want to Just be a Soundtrack Singer

Kapanlagi.com - Melly Goeslaw apparently took part in the production of the upcoming horror film remake Suzzana: Malam Jumat Kliwon. Melly was trusted to fill the original soundtrack and recycle it according to her own distinctive style.

In a press conference for the launch of the Suzzana: Malam Jumat Kliwon film trailer at Soraya Intercine Films, Central Jakarta on Thursday (22/06), Melly Goeslaw admitted that she actually wanted to be an actor in this horror film. She never thought of filling the original soundtrack of this film which is her idol.

"Thank you for offering me and Mas Anto to do the soundtrack. Initially, I didn't think about it because I asked if I could play a role, with the thought that since I've lost weight, maybe I can, and it's okay if there are no dialogues. But unfortunately, the script was already written, and they had already started shooting, so I didn't get a chance to be an actor," said Melly Goeslaw.

1. Once Met with Suzzana

Melly Goeslaw remembers the moment when she met the late Suzzana at the Soraya Intercine Films office. However, Melly regrets that there is no documentation of their moment.

Due to her admiration for Suzzana and this film, Melly did not refuse at all and instead felt very happy to be trusted.

"I remember when the opening of this office, the late's car was hitched to this one. Documentation was made first by hardcore fans," she said.

2. First Time Contributing to a Horror Soundtrack

In addition, this experience is very valuable for Melly Goeslaw because it is her first experience in contributing to a horror film soundtrack. Surely, Melly Goeslaw took advantage of this opportunity well.

"This is my first horror, I really read the script. Thank God I was given the chance to watch it and then I made the soundtrack, a tragic love," said Melly Goeslaw. Just for your information, the film Suzzana: Malam Jumat Kliwon has been showing in Indonesian cinemas since August 3, 2023, with a running time of 2 hours and 12 minutes.
