Nikita Mirzani Protests Strongly in Court, Accuses Investigators of Selectively Choosing Chat Data

1. Question the Chat Data

Nikita questioned why the chat data extracted from her assistant's phone, Mail, seemed selective and was not displayed in full.

"You were talking about SOP earlier. Now, this is the data you extracted going back to October, and some of it I checked here was from June, July, right? What is the relevance of the data from June, July to October, while the incident alleged against Mail, my friend, and me happened in November 2024?" asked Nikita Mirzani in the courtroom at the South Jakarta District Court on Thursday (11/10/2025).

This mother of three is surprised why data from months that are irrelevant to the main case is included, while other older data is not presented.

The expert witness then explained that his job is to extract all data on the device, but the selection of data for further analysis is the authority of the investigator.

"For the extraction process, I did it in its entirety. So, for example, if there are still messages on the Mother’s phone from 2021 or 2020, they are all there. However, for the selection and analysis, that is done by the investigator, Ma'am," replied the expert witness.

This answer immediately triggered a stronger reaction from Nikita. She accused the expert witness of lying and questioned why chat data from previous years was not included.

4. Nikita Mirzani's Debate

"So you are lying, because on my phone, I have never deleted any chats. There are even messages starting from 2019. Why wasn't it revealed from 2019? Why hold back like this?" Nikita pressed.

This debate was finally mediated by the Panel of Judges who reaffirmed the role of the expert witness, which is limited to extracting data, not analyzing it.

5. Nikita Is Not Satisfied with a Sarcastic Tone

"The expert's task is just to extract from the phone, whether it's from 2010 or not, if it can also be extracted. Right? The question is whether everything will be displayed; that is for the investigator to analyze and decide," emphasized the Chief Judge.

Despite that, Nikita still seemed unsatisfied and concluded with a sarcastic tone, "Okay. So it’s up to the investigator, huh? Okay."
