Not Only Romance, the Film 'HAMKA & SITI RAHAM' Showcases the Process of Writing Al-Azhar Interpretation

Kapanlagi.com - The sequel to BUYA HAMKA titled HAMKA & SITI RAHAM is ready to be screened in cinemas throughout Indonesia starting from December 21st. This film turns out to not only tell the romance between Abdul Malik Karim Amrullah and his wife.

Fajar Bustomi, as the director, revealed that his film also discusses the process of writing the book Al-Azhar interpretation. This interpretation book is said to be the greatest work of the scholar.

"In this film, there is a story about when Buya Hamka wrote the Al-Azhar interpretation. Even Siti Raham reminded Buya to finish the interpretation," said Fajar quoted from a text message received by KapanLagi.com, recently.

1. Consider President Soekarno a Friend

As is known, Buya Hamka's relationship with President Soekarno was said to have been strained due to political differences. However, the film will show that Hamka still considers the President as his friend.

"This film does not discredit anyone. In fact, Hamka still fulfills President Soekarno's will to become the Imam of the funeral prayer when the President passed away. This proves that Buya Hamka considers the President as a friend and a great person," added Fajar.

2. The Patience of Siti Raham

The film HAMKA & SITI RAHAM tells the story of Siti Raham accompanying Buya Hamka's journey to unite the ulama with the Indonesian military in North Sumatra. Siti Raham's patience is tested when Buya Hamka is detained for allegedly opposing the government.

The second part of this Buya Hamka biopic trilogy stars Vino G Bastian as Buya Hamka and Laudya Cynthia Bella as Siti Raham. It is also enlivened by Anjasmara, Donny Damara, Reza Rahadian, and many more
