Nunung's Struggle Against Cancer, Spending Rp40 Million Each Month

Comedian Nunung Srimulat has once again spoken out about her struggle against the illness she has suffered from, as well as the burden of medical expenses she has to bear.

Met at Warung Buncit, South Jakarta, on Monday (10/6/2025), she revealed her current condition and how she is trying to maintain her overall health. Here are the details.

"In a month, it can reach up to Rp 40 million (for treatment), and that is necessary. Blood tests are essential because consuming a lot of medication means you have to check your kidneys, lungs, and heart regularly every month," said Nunung as quoted by detik.com.

In the midst of her struggle against her illness, Nunung is grateful because the results of her latest examination show an improving condition. "Alhamdulillah when I check up, my cancer the doctor said is good, there's nothing wrong, good, Alhamdulillah," said Nunung.

However, physical recovery alone is not enough according to Nunung. She states that spirit and mental strength are inseparable parts of the healing process.

"Whatever illness can be cured, it starts from within ourselves. Are we eager to recover? No matter how we are treated, if we don't have the spirit to heal, it will be in vain," explained Nunung.

After strengthening her mental state, Nunung also tries to align the physical, spiritual, and mental aspects to maintain overall health. "I first strengthen my body, strengthen my physical and spiritual health, strengthen my mind, basically strengthen everything, then I will surely work better," she explained.

He also recounted that his life gradually started to stabilize again after difficult times. "My life has started to be organized. Now I take medication every month, no more headaches, it's just there, it can just be like that. Even though I still have to juggle things around," he concluded.

Since the cancer diagnosis, Nunung has also undergone therapy at SWICC (Suherman Widyatomo Integrated Cancer Center) with a team of oncologists for treatment and monitoring of his condition.

The process included various intensive medical examinations and regular monitoring. In addition, although it has been reported that she is cured of breast cancer, Nunung continues to consult with a psychiatrist to maintain her mental stability.
