Objection Demanded 9 Months of Rehabilitation, Dwi Sasono Submit Defense

Kapanlagi.com - Dwi Sasono demanded 9 months of rehabilitation related to the alleged drug abuse case that ensnared him. The demand was read out in a trial at the South Jakarta District Court on Wednesday (23/9).

Dwi Sasono's legal team will submit a plea or defense note against the demand. The plea will be read out in the next trial on Wednesday (30/9).

"Next week is our plea or defense," said Dwi's lawyer, Aris Marasabessy, after the trial at the South Jakarta District Court.

1. Submit Objection

Aris revealed that there are several objections to the demands from the Public Prosecutor (JPU) against his client, according to him the JPU did not consider the facts that emerged during the trial.

Aris also expressed this based on the testimony of several witnesses presented in the drug case involving Dwi.

"The assessment results state three to six months, not nine months. We also have a mitigating witness from the doctor who treated. He said, yes it takes three more months to finish. So it does match for three to 6 months," said Aris.

2. Meeting Criminal Elements

In their demand, the JPU asked the panel of judges to declare Dwi guilty of abusing marijuana. The JPU assessed that the actions of the film player MENDADAK DANGDUT have fulfilled the criminal elements in Article 127 paragraph (1) of Law Number 35 Year 2009 concerning Narcotics.

"We actually agree to be charged under Article 127. But, we disagree with the severity of the punishment," he added.

3. Caught with Drugs

Previously, Dwi Sasono was arrested by the police on May 26 at his home in Pondok Labu, South Jakarta and during the search, the police found 16 grams of marijuana.

Widi Mulia's husband claimed to consume the illegal substance to fill the void during the COVID-19 pandemic, and he also admitted to experiencing sleep disturbances.
