"On March 15, 2022, Roy Pujiarti Binti Surani filed a divorce suit registered in register 516/Pdt.G/2022/PA.JP against her husband named Doddy Sudrajat Binti Abas," said Jajat Sudrajat, the spokesman for the Central Jakarta Religious Court in his office on Tuesday (15/3/2022).

1. Consultation Before Filing for Divorce

A few days before officially filing for divorce from Doddy Sudrajat, Puput first consulted with her legal counsel. She discussed the decisions that would be made.

"On March 11, 2022, Ms. Puput consulted about divorce, whether it could be filed in court or not. After getting legal advice from us, she was determined to file for divorce against her husband," said Halim Perdana Kusuma, Puput's legal counsel, separately interviewed by the media in the Veteran area, Pesanggrahan, South Jakarta, on Tuesday (3/15/2022).

2. Causes of Divorce

The cause of the divorce is that there is no longer compatibility between Puput and her husband. So finally the woman is determined to file a lawsuit.

"Regarding this divorce, there have always been disputes and differences of opinion in the household. But the last problem couldn't be contained anymore. That's why Ms. Puput has made up her mind to file for divorce in court," added Halim.

3. Divorce Due to Financial Matters?

Halim Perdana Kusuma, as the legal representative, denied two things related to Puput's reason for divorcing Doddy Sudrajat. He emphasized that it has nothing to do with financial matters or a third party.

"If there is no third party, then there is no issue with finances. The principle is disharmony. It can no longer work," he said firmly.

4. Conflict Since 2018

Conflict and misunderstandings between Puput and Doddy Sudrajat have been going on since 2018. However, during that time as his wife, Puput chose to try to fix the situation.

"This problem itself started in 2018. Because Mbak Puput tried to maintain the integrity of the household. Because there is a child who is around five years old from their marriage," explained Halim.

5. Appearing Harmonious Despite Separating

Puput's divorce lawsuit against Doddy Sudrajat surprised the public. Because all this time they seemed to be doing fine. However, it turns out that they have been living separately for the past three months.

"Indeed, in the media we see that Mbak Puput and Pak Doddy are romantic and harmonious. But we don't know what's going on outside. The household problem existed before (Vanessa Angel) passed away. There have been conflicts. But Mbak Puput tried to be good. They have been living separately for the past three months. That's what we got from Mbak Puput's statement," he concluded.
