Omara Esteghlal Proud to Star in 'TINGGAL MENINGGAL' & 'PENGEPUNGAN DI BUKIT DURI', Nominated for FFI 2025

Omara always shows an extraordinary totality in acting. It's no surprise that he was nominated for Best Supporting Actor at FFI 2025.

Omara did not forget to express his pride in being able to act in the film Tinggal Meninggal and Pengepungan Di Bukit Duri.

"Although I am very grateful to be honored with a nomination for my role as Jefri, I want to show my immense gratitude and pride for being part of 2 projects where both scripts are not only very cool but also very important," wrote Omara in an IG post on Tuesday (21/10).

"The Pengepungan di Bukit Duri" by Abang Joko Anwar makes us aware of the dangers this country faces if discrimination, divisive practices, horizontal conflicts, corrupt governance, and lack of quality education are allowed to persist. It reminds us that Indonesia has a dark history from which we should learn lessons rather than forget it," he continued.

Omara plays the role of Jefri in the film Pengepungan Di Bukit Duri. When it was screened in theaters, this film directed by Joko Anwar received a flood of praise.

Pengepungan Di Bukit Duri was also nominated for 12 awards at the 2025 Indonesian Film Festival, ranging from Best Feature Film to Best Director.

The film Tinggal Meninggal, starring Omara, was also nominated in the Best Sound Designer category. "Tinggal Meninggal by Kristo Immanuel and Jessica Tjiu shows us the dangers of ignoring internal conflicts, mental health issues, parental abandonment and absence, ableism issues, the importance of accepting different people, and the process of experiencing grief. I am incredibly lucky this year, I love these two projects, and I loved that I got to work with geniuses," he concluded.
