Padel Considered a 'Fomo' Sport, Here’s What Ariel NOAH and Gading Marten Say

Ariel NOAH firmly states that there is nothing wrong with the 'fomo' phenomenon as long as it brings positive impacts, such as making people healthier through sports.

"If fomo is positive, why not? This is a sport, if the result is that people become healthy, there’s nothing wrong with being labeled fomo, just let it be," said Ariel during a press conference in the Senopati area, South Jakarta, on Monday (10/11/2025).

In line with Ariel, Gading Marten sees Padel not just as a passing trend. He predicts that this sport will have a long lifespan in Indonesia due to its various advantages.

"Maybe at first it seems like a new sport so everyone wants to try it. But its history is long and I believe it will have a long life in Indonesia," said Gading.

This father of one then explained his reasons, starting from being able to play indoors, suitable for all ages, to the more affordable costs compared to other sports like golf.

"First, indoor, can be played by all ages, also affordable compared to golf. In a few years, I heard it will be included in the Olympics, and it's a good business too," he said.

Nagita Slavina also added that the 'fomo' trend could actually be a good initial trigger to grow the enthusiasm for sports among the general public.

"It excites the spirit of sports. Almost all sports A B C initially come from fomo. But it depends on us," concluded Nagita.
