Piche Kota Indonesian Idol Declared Suspect in Alleged Rape

Singer Piche Kota has been designated a suspect by the Belu Police Criminal Investigation Unit. This Indonesian Idol alumnus is involved in a case of alleged rape of a minor along with two others, namely RM alias Roni and RS alias Rifle.

Belu Police Chief AKBP I Gede Eka Putra Astawa stated that investigators have designated three individuals as suspects in this case. “In handling this case, investigators have designated three suspects, identified by the initials RM, RS, and PK,” said Astawa as reported by CNNIndonesia.com, Saturday (21/2).

The determination of suspects was made after a case presentation held on Thursday (19/2) at the Belu Police, Belu Regency, East Nusa Tenggara. Astawa explained that the determination was made because the elements of the crime had been fulfilled and supported by valid evidence in accordance with the provisions of criminal procedural law.

"The determination of suspects was made based on a series of legitimate and measured investigations. The mechanism of the case presentation reflects the application of the principles of caution, objectivity, and accountability, as well as serving as a form of internal oversight in the investigation process," said Astawa.

In this case, the investigators applied layered articles against the three suspects. "The investigators applied Article 473 paragraph (4) of the Criminal Code as adjusted by Law Number 1 of 2026 concerning Criminal Adjustments, or Article 81 paragraph (2) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 17 of 2016 concerning Child Protection, with a maximum prison sentence of 15 (fifteen) years, or Article 415 letter b of the Criminal Code with a maximum prison sentence of 9 (nine) years," said Astawa.

The investigator will summon Piche Kota and Rifle for the purposes of the investigation. Meanwhile, Roni will be arrested for being deemed uncooperative and failing to respond to the investigator's summons without a valid reason.

This case began with a report of alleged sexual violence against a high school student with the initials ACT (16). The report was received by the Belu Police on Tuesday (13/1) with report number LP/B/12/I/2026/SPKT/Belu Police/NTT Regional Police.

The alleged rape occurred on Sunday (11/1) around 16:00 WITA at a hotel in Atambua City, Tenukik Village, Atambua City District, Belu Regency, NTT. Based on initial investigation results, the victim, along with the three suspects, allegedly consumed alcoholic beverages in the hotel room. When the victim was allegedly unconscious, the perpetrators are said to have committed rape.

Astawa emphasized that the Belu Police are handling this case professionally and transparently. The legal process includes receiving reports, medical examinations of the victim, witness interrogations, and the collection of evidence. Meanwhile, Piche Kota's father, Antonius Chen Jaga Kota, stated that the family appreciates the ongoing legal process. "The process is still ongoing, so we will just follow it while waiting for the results," he concluded.
