Actor Jonathan Frizzy has officially been designated as a suspect for allegedly misusing vape liquid containing the hard drug etomidate. However, as of now, his detention status remains unclear. This was directly stated by the Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Pol Ade Ary Syam Indradi, when met at the Metro Jaya Police, South Jakarta, on Monday (5/5/2025).
"He has been arrested, secured, with the suspicion of that article," said Kombes Pol Ade Ary. The arrest of Jonathan Frizzy occurred after a joint investigation between the Narcotics Unit of Soekarno Hatta Airport Police and Customs.
From the development of the case, the police secured three non-celebrity suspects with the initials BTR, ER, and EDS who then provided information leading to Jonathan Frizzy. However, when further questioned about the detention status of the actor, Kombes Pol Ade Ary could not provide certainty.
Jonathan Frizzy indeed missed the second examination on the grounds that he was undergoing treatment in the hospital. The latest fact actually states that he was arrested not in the hospital, but at his residence.
"He was arrested last night, yesterday afternoon. At 4 PM, it will be explained by the Chief of Police. It is confirmed that he has been named a suspect and was arrested yesterday," he added.
The arrest took place in the Bintaro area, South Jakarta. Specifically in Akasia, Pesanggrahan, around 5:00 PM WIB. This location also refutes previous information that the soap opera actor was receiving treatment.
The police themselves promised to provide complete information through a press conference scheduled for this afternoon. This includes Jonathan Frizzy's legal status going forward, whether he will be detained immediately or not.
