Agnez Mo Controversy
Recently, the name Agnez Mo has been widely discussed. This is all because Agnez has royalty issues with songwriter Ari Bias. Agnez was declared the loser in court and is required to pay up to Rp 1.5 billion for allegedly neglecting to pay royalties while performing.
Agnez finally spoke at length about this issue on the podcast Deddy Corbuzier which aired on Tuesday (18/2/2025). Here are some things Agnez stated!
Agnez's presence on Deddy Corbuzier's podcast surely excites many people considering that they have a history of dating in the past. Deddy also teased Agnez, asking why she is on his show only when there are 'problems'.
In this episode, Deddy got straight to the point by asking about the royalty issues that Agnez is currently facing. Agnez even brought a laptop to read the articles related to the Copyright Law concerning her issues.
Agnez explained that all this time she and the organizers of any music event have a contract. One of the contracts states that Agnez hands over all costs that arise during the event to be the responsibility of the organizer, unless she is the one organizing the event herself.
In music events, Agnez explained there is a contract that states royalties are paid to the song owners at 2% of ticket sales. Agnez admitted she has no idea about ticket sales; her only job is to perform and provide entertainment services.
What confuses Agnez is why the demands are placed on her, who is just a singer, while the event organizers are not.
Agnez was also asked about other songwriters who support and oppose her. Ahmad Dhani is among those who can be said to be against her and claimed to have contacted Agnez but did not receive a response.
Agnez confirmed that Ahmad Dhani had contacted her and asked for her support during the campaign in the regional elections. Agnez refused because she does not engage in such activities. Ahmad Dhani also once chatted to invite her to talk, but Agnez was confused because the context of the invitation was unclear.
