A Portrait of Alya Rohali: Sincere in Not Accompanying Her Mother's Funeral, Still Watches via Video Call

A somber atmosphere enveloped TPU Jeruk Purut, South Jakarta, as the body of Atit Tresnawati was buried on Monday (14/4/2025). Family and relatives gathered to escort the late mother of Alya Rohali to her final resting place.

However, Alya could not be present in person at the funeral of her beloved mother because she was in the United States. Nevertheless, the former Miss Indonesia 1996 still followed the funeral proceedings from afar.

"I continued to witness (the funeral) via video call, in the WhatsApp group," said Diarra Annisa Radini, daughter of Alya Rohali at Jeruk Purut Cemetery, South Jakarta, Monday (14/4/2025).

Diarra mentioned that her mother could not hide her sadness when watching her mother's funeral from afar. She truly felt how Alya continued to try to be strong even though her heart must have been shattered.

"Mom cried, sad, but I know mom is strong and has accepted it. Mom has also been advising me since this morning to just accept it because everything that happens is God's destiny and my family and I have accepted it," she said.

Diarra then recounted her grandmother's health condition before passing away. She revealed that Atit had been declared cancer-free but experienced other complications that drastically worsened her health.

"So it just so happens that Enin indeed has leukemia cancer, but actually the cancer has been clean. Then yesterday there was a lung infection, which led to hospitalization and admission to the ICU," said Diarra.

Atit underwent intensive treatment for several weeks in the hospital. Although she was stable at times, her condition worsened again until the family decided to care for her at home.

"She was in the hospital for about three weeks and it was finally decided to care for her at home. Actually, Enin's condition was stable last week, but on Friday she dropped, her saturation was very low, and it just went up and down," she said.

On the morning before Atit took her last breath, Diarra and her brother rushed to the house where their grandmother was being cared for. She was grateful to still see her grandmother alive, even if only for the last few seconds.

"Then this morning, the medicine didn't respond anymore, after that my sibling and I went straight to the house where Enin was being treated and when we got there it was already the last moments. We still had a chance to see her while she was alive, also during the last moments," he explained.
