This 24-year-old man has to walk using a cane after his right leg was amputated due to an accident in 2015, but his spirit has never faded.
"Alhamdulillah… Everest Basecamp, I finally made it here.As a disabled person with one leg, this journey is not just about conquering a mountain, but about conquering myself," wrote Anggi in a post on his personal Instagram on Tuesday (6/3).
At Everest Basecamp, Anggi proudly raised the red and white flag and stated that the limits of humanity do not lie in physical ability, but in willpower.
"Throughout the ascent of Sindoro, Anggi shared many stories, one of his dreams was to plan a trip to Everest Basecamp. If Anggi goes to EBC in my thoughts at that time, this could be something big! Indonesian climbers with disabilities can set foot on Everest Basecamp. This is extraordinary in my opinion," wrote the Instagram account @alifxf, on Thursday (5/6).
"Thank you for all the prayers and support, and to the entire team @satulangkahlagi_id who have fought together to make all of this happen. My steps may be different, but my dreams are just as big," wrote Anggi.
Anggi has conquered various mountains in Indonesia before challenging Everest Basecamp, one of which is Mount Latimojong, Sulawesi.
During the climb, Anggi certainly faced many challenges. Nevertheless, he succeeded. The shortcomings did not become an obstacle; Anggi's extraordinary achievement can serve as an example for Indonesian youth.
