The name Arjuna Prima Iskandar, or more commonly known as Arjuna AFI, may not be frequently heard on television anymore. From being a singer who emerged from a talent search competition to living in poverty, burdened by debt, and haunted by deep trauma due to the loss of his beloved wife, Arjuna found himself at the lowest point of his life.

Arjuna AFI experienced a tragic turning point in his life when his wife, Luri AFI, passed away on January 11, 2009, one week after giving birth to their child. Luri's departure due to pregnancy complications left a deep wound for Arjuna, to the point where he admitted to having contemplated ending his life after losing his true companion.

In the aftermath of that deep sorrow, Arjuna fell into a worsening economic condition. He admitted to being in debt and was even labeled a fraud because some people felt wronged due to loans that remained unpaid. In January 2016, he appeared to apologize and promised to settle all his debt obligations soon.

During his downturn, Arjuna lived on a minimal income. He worked as a mobile phone counter guard with a salary of only Rp 800 thousand per month, before switching to being an online motorcycle taxi driver to save up. Some small businesses he tried, like selling toasted bread, even failed, leading him to bankruptcy again.

The sadness over the departure of his wife also made Arjuna traumatized to sing again. At that time, many performance offers came in, but he felt empty without Luri, who used to be his duet partner. This reluctance lasted for months until he completely stopped performing on stage.
