Through a video uploaded on her YouTube channel on Wednesday (10/8/2025), Maia Estianty talked with El Rumi about his plans to propose to Syifa Hadju. This video was recorded before El left for Switzerland and was intentionally shown after the proposal was completed.

Before going on vacation to Switzerland with Syifa Hadju, El first went to his mother's house to ask for blessings to propose to his beloved girlfriend.
El's story initially wanted to propose at Big Ben, London, England around 6 PM local time when it was still quiet. The reason is that he once studied there, so that place has a special meaning for him. But in the end, El chose to propose in Switzerland.
When asked if Syifa knew about this proposal, El said maybe his girlfriend already felt it because he was sure Syifa had been waiting for his proposal.
Maia then asked about the engagement ring that El Rumi had prepared. It turns out El asked for help from his daddy, or his stepfather, Irwan Mussry, to find the best ring.
The reason is that Irwan Mussry is more experienced in the fashion and jewelry business. Maia emphasized that the money still comes from El, it's just that Irwan is the one looking for it. Interestingly, Irwan had even given a diamond to El. But because El didn't understand ring making, he entrusted it to his daddy.
Before leaving for Switzerland, El took his engagement ring to his mother's house. El also asked for help from his mother, who is considered more experienced with rings and engagements.
El even practiced putting the ring on Maia's finger. His mother chose the pinky because her finger size is larger than Syifa's.
