Senior musician Fariz RM underwent a follow-up trial for the drug case that ensnared him at the South Jakarta District Court on Thursday (26/6/2025). In the trial, the 66-year-old man gave testimony directly before the panel of judges.

Fariz RM emphasized that he has never used drugs to support his music activities. He stated that his works have always emerged from a healthy mental state and are not influenced by illegal substances.
"I have never used drugs to work," said Fariz RM in the South Jakarta District Court room.
"I am sure and believe that good work results do not come from a distorted mind," said Fariz RM. According to him, the creative process will actually be disturbed if the mind is not in a normal condition.
He mentioned that he consumes methamphetamine during his free time, not as work doping. "I only use it for relaxation," he explained.
Fariz RM also revealed that he had used methamphetamine after performing at an event. He used drugs after his duties as a musician were completed. "I used meth on Saturday after the performance was over," he disclosed.
Nevertheless, the Public Prosecutor still charged Fariz RM with the accusation of being a drug dealer. He is charged under Article 114 paragraph (1) of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics for allegedly storing and distributing methamphetamine.
Not only that, Fariz RM is also charged under Article 112 paragraph (1) for possessing methamphetamine without legal permission. He is additionally charged under Article 111 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) number 1 of the Criminal Code for allegedly storing cannabis in plant form.
