Action star Iko Uwais did not hesitate to show his pride in the nation's martial arts by presenting a pencak silat performance in front of President Prabowo Subianto during the celebration of the 80th Independence Day of Indonesia at the Merdeka Palace (17/8/2025). Together with the Indonesian Pencak Silat Association, his performance added to the festive atmosphere of Indonesia's Independence Day. Here is his act.

At the celebration of Indonesia's 80th Independence Day, Iko Uwais not only attended as an invited guest but also performed pencak silat. After greeting with full politeness, Iko showcased serious martial arts action.
In his performance, Iko demonstrated agile movements, full of energy, yet maintaining the beauty as a cultural heritage of Indonesia.
Performing alongside the Indonesian Pencak Silat Association, Iko appeared confidently before President Prabowo. The action star and the best martial artist at the national silat championship in 2005 made us proud.
Under the scorching sunlight, he stood in front alongside Eko Wahyudi, the gold medalist in the men's solo artistic pencak silat at the SEA Games XXVI (2011).
Wearing a plain black long-sleeved shirt, batik patterned long pants complete with a headband, Iko stands in front showcasing international class martial arts skills.
"Alhamdulillah Pencak Silat was given the opportunity to perform at the State Palace, on the occasion of our beloved country's 80th anniversary and witnessed directly by the Chairman of IPSI, Mr. President of Indonesia @prabowo," so stated Iko Uwais in a post with his wife, Audy Item.
President Prabowo Subianto, who was wearing sunglasses, was amazed to see Iko and other martial artists performing with great enthusiasm.
