Action star Iko Uwais did not hesitate to show his pride in the national martial art by presenting a pencak silat performance in front of President Prabowo Subianto during the 80th Anniversary of Indonesia at the Merdeka Palace (17/8/2025). Together with the Indonesian Pencak Silat Association, his performance added to the celebrations of Indonesia's Independence Day. Here is his performance.

At the celebration of the 80th anniversary of Indonesia's independence, Iko Uwais not only attended as an invited guest but also performed pencak silat. After giving a polite greeting, Iko showcased serious martial arts moves.
In his performance, Iko demonstrated agile movements, full of energy, while still maintaining the beauty of Indonesia's cultural heritage.
Performing alongside the Indonesian Pencak Silat Association, Iko presented himself confidently in front of President Prabowo. The action star and best martial artist at the national silat championship in 2005 made everyone proud.
Under the scorching sun, he stood at the front alongside Eko Wahyudi, the gold medalist in the men's individual artistic pencak silat at the XXVI SEA Games (2011).
Wearing a plain black long-sleeved shirt, batik-patterned long pants complete with a headband, Iko is in front demonstrating international-class martial arts skills.
"Alhamdulillah, Pencak Silat was given the opportunity to perform at the State Palace, on the occasion of our beloved country's 80th anniversary, and witnessed directly by the Chairman of IPSI, Mr. President of Indonesia @prabowo," so stated the post by Iko Uwais along with his wife, Audy Item.
President Prabowo Subianto, wearing sunglasses, was amazed to see Iko and the other martial artists perform with great enthusiasm.
