Presenting a Love Story Across Religions, the Film 'LOKANANTA' is Set to Premiere in Theaters on August 8

Kapanlagi.com - The film LOKANANTA will soon be released simultaneously in Indonesian theaters. Directed by Puguh PS Admaja, this film presents the complexities of a romantic relationship between a couple of different religions.

This film is even more interesting as it was filmed in North Minahasa, specifically on Lihaga Island, Camp James in Remboken, Casa Bayou at the residence of Joune Ganda, and in the Mangrove Forest of Likupang. In addition to being rich in values of tolerance, this film also attempts to highlight traditional Indonesian music, Kolintang.

"The film LOKANANTA is one form of our support for the program 'Kolintang Goes To UNESCO' as a world cultural heritage that is currently registered and will be ratified by UNESCO," said Puguh when met in the Kuningan area of South Jakarta recently.

Meanwhile, Aji Fauzi as the executive producer mentioned that this film also showcases the natural beauty of North Sulawesi. Not only that, this film is also planned to be presented in neighboring country Malaysia.

"The beauty of the beaches in Likupang and the Kolintang musical instrument can be a unique treasure owned by Minahasa Utara," he said.

"This also becomes an opportunity for Minahasa Utara to go international," he added.

LOKANANTA tells the story of Ananta, played by Fiedra Azalia, who is forced to leave her parents, considered a thick wall, to pursue her dreams in a music career. Her encounter with Loka, played by Brian Andrew, further strengthens the determination she must fight for.

The film LOKANANTA stars Ray Sahetapy, Syakir Daulay, Rinoa Aurora, Fiedra Azalia, and Brian Andrew. LOKANANTA is scheduled to be released on August 8, 2024, in theaters.
