During the match, fate had other plans. The Indonesia national team was defeated by Japan 0-4 in the continuation of Group C of the third round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium, last Friday.
In essence, Ragnar was face-to-face with the Japanese goalkeeper, Zion Suzuki. However, he failed to capitalize on the goal-scoring opportunity in the ninth minute.

The Indonesian national team coach, Shin Tae Yong, also lamented Ragnar's missed goal opportunity, predicting that the final result could have been different if Ragnar had managed to score against the Samurai Blue, the nickname for the Japanese national team.
"Indeed, football is like that; it’s not easy for players to maintain their level until the match is over in 90 minutes," said Shin Tae Yong in a press conference after the match against Japan, Friday (15/11/2024).
"I do not want to make excuses because our team lost, I will conduct an evaluation and prepare for the next match even better," said Shin Tae Yong after the match.
Ragnar tweeted briefly through his personal Instagram "always together" and hopes fans remain united with the players to keep the dream of the Indonesian national team qualifying for the 2026 World Cup alive.
