The family of Raffi Ahmad actually gave a rather unique response regarding the issue of the presenter’s involvement in the illegal goods smuggling case. His wife, Nagita Slavina, even laughed upon hearing the news that her husband ordered smuggled goods.
Raffi explained that his wife is very aware of their daily life, including financial matters and shopping. According to him, Nagita actually knows much more about the details of luxury item purchases than he does.
This was stated by Raffi to prove that it is impossible for him to have secretly ordered goods through illegal channels. All transactional matters are usually managed or known by Nagita.
"My wife knows, my family knows. Especially my wife, she laughs and says 'Oh God, I sometimes don't even know my ATM PIN, that's my wife,'" said Raffi Ahmad when met in the Wijaya area, South Jakarta, Thursday (11/6/2026).
Raffi mentioned that he is someone who is not tech-savvy, so it is unlikely that he would order sophisticated gadgets through unclear intermediaries. All his needs are usually assisted by his team or his wife.
He also recounted how this issue started from a photo in front of an electronics store while they were on vacation in America. Raffi emphasized that there was no serious discussion about business at that time.
"'Mas Raffi, Mas Ariel, Mas Gading, take a photo with me'. Oh, right, we did take a photo. In front of the store. We didn't go inside," said Raffi Ahmad.
Although the family responded calmly, Raffi still felt the need to provide clarification for the sake of his reputation. He didn't want his wife to keep hearing false news attacking her husband.
"I don't have their phone numbers. I have never received any shipments. I didn't even order anything transactionally," emphasized Raffi Ahmad.
Not staying silent, Raffi Ahmad and Hotman Paris will seek out netizens spreading vile slander related to the widely discussed smuggling case.
