Kapanlagi.com - Actor and youth activist, Rasheed Ali, has made a new experience in his career. The man known for his roles in the films True Heart and Ayat-Ayat Cinta made his debut on the catwalk for the first time during the 25th anniversary celebration of designer Merdi Sihombing at the National Museum.
“This is my first time being a model at the Flying Cloth event by Merdi Sihombing. Many senior artists also participated, such as Yuni Shara, Iis Dahlia, Bang Ozi Syahputra, and legendary models from the 80s to 90s like Ratih Soe, Ira Duati, Faradina, Ayu Diah Pasha, Catherine Wilson, and Artika Sari Devi. I feel very proud to be one of the muses in the fashion show of a designer whose name has become renowned internationally,” said Rasheed Ali, who is now also active as the Chairman of the Foreign Relations Division of DPP KNPI.
Merdi Sihombing is known as a designer who popularizes ulos fabric and traditional Indonesian weaving. For Rasheed, the collection he wore is very classy and of high value.

"The dress is very beautiful. Merdi is very clever in fabric color processing. This is impressive because artisans from the corners of our country are increasingly developing, and their works can become foreign exchange for the country," he said with admiration.
Walking on the catwalk turned out to provide a different experience for Rasheed. "It's very different from shooting. I'm already used to shooting. But walking on the catwalk is really exciting, especially with a designer as big as Merdi Sihombing," he said.
However, when asked which he preferred, Rasheed firmly chose acting. "Definitely acting. I grew up from feature films and soap operas," he added.
In addition to being busy in the arts, Rasheed Ali is also active in various social and youth activities. As the Country Manager of the American Dairy Export Council and an activist in the KNPI organization with Ryano Panjaitan, Rasheed often participates in educating youth in various regions.
"There are many youth activities that I am involved in now, such as educating the Gen Z generation so that they can create with the skills they have. I hope that in the future, the younger generation of Indonesia will continue to be the best for our nation," he said with hope.
Although now active in the world of politics and organizations, Rasheed admits he misses acting on the big screen. "I miss being in movies again because the schedule is easier. But right now, my focus is still on youth affairs and work," he said.
Rasheed Ali's career as an actor, activist, and spontaneous model proves that an artist can play a role in various fields, including inspiring the young generation. Rasheed hopes this moment can be a motivation for him to continue creating and giving his best for the nation and the entertainment world of the homeland.
