7 Portraits of Sheila On 7 Releasing New Song 'Good Memories', Special Collaboration with Duta's Daughter - Inspired by Moments with Family

After six years of absence from releasing new singles, Sheila On 7 finally returns to greet fans with their latest song titled Good Memories. This song is special because it features a collaboration with Aishameglio, the daughter of the vocalist, Duta.

Previously, this Yogyakarta-based group last released the single Favorite Film, which also received an extraordinary response. According to Duta, Good Memories is a reflection of the meaningful relationship between parents and children. Here are the details.

"The children have started to grow up, and we realize that one day they will have their own lives," said Duta in the Lebak Bulus area, South Jakarta, on Monday (25/11/2024).

The song was inspired by moments within the family, something that is close to Duta's daily life and that of the other members. Duta also explained that the creative process of Sheila On 7 is now undergoing changes.

"All inspiration after getting older will have an impact. In the past, our inspiration was more about love. Now it's different; the conversations are about health, cholesterol, and so on," he said while laughing.

By involving young musicians in the production process, Sheila On 7 also ensures that their songs remain relevant to current tastes. Adam added that there is something special about the making of Memori Baik. "The recording was done in the studio in Jogja, but we thought about mixing and mastering in Japan. That is indeed something different from before," he explained.

Aishameglio's presence in this song also adds a unique charm. Besides providing vocals, Aishameglio also brings a fresh vibe to Sheila On 7's music. "That's why the title is Memori Baik feat Aishameglio. From several songs available, we finally chose this song for a duet, not just Duta singing," said Adam.

Through this song, Sheila On 7 seems to prove that they are still capable of presenting works that are relevant at every stage of life. In fact, Duta hinted that the themes of their songs in the future may become increasingly close to personal experiences.
