Reasons Ashanty Chose Japan as a New Year Holiday Destination with Her Extended Family

The end of the year holiday is a special moment for Ashanty and her family. For the transition from 2024 to 2025, Ashanty decided to spend time with her extended family in Japan. This decision started from a light discussion at her home.

"I said, 'So where are we going for New Year?' Kak Loli said, and then I said, 'I think Japan would be fun,'" said Ashanty when met at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Tangerang, on Friday (27/12/2024).

According to Ashanty, after giving that idea, her family members became enthusiastic. Almost everyone agreed to go to Japan. However, there was a change of plans before they finally returned to the initial idea.

"Keep asking again to everyone, yes, I have already gone to Japan. So, it has been a long time, and finally, I changed my mind again. ‘Ah, no need to go to Japan, where else to go?’ there was that time," she continued.

After reconsidering, they agreed to choose Japan as their year-end destination. One of the reasons is that Japan offers delicious food and new experiences for family members who have never been there.

"Then finally, after thinking again, we just go to Japan because the food is also good, and Ameena, Azura have never been, so we ended up going to Japan," Ashanty explained.

This vacation is planned to last for two weeks. While in Japan, they will spend more time in Tokyo for practicality, considering traveling with small children can be quite troublesome if they have to move from place to place. "There, Insya Allah for 2 weeks," she revealed.

"We are bringing babies, bringing kids, so moving places would be troublesome. So we will really just stay in Tokyo. Maybe later if we want to stay overnight, we will already have a place," added Ashanty.

Ashanty also shared that this is not the first time her family celebrates New Year in Tokyo. Although there are no fireworks like in other places, she still feels happy because she can enjoy moments of togetherness with her family.

"Actually, we have celebrated New Year in Tokyo twice, experiencing the absence of fireworks and other festivities. But for some reason, the kids want to go, they like the food, and most importantly, it’s the togetherness. We don’t need to be too crowded, the important thing is that we all gather together," she concluded.
