Rejecting Corruption Allegations, Rano Karno Ready to 'Collide' With Witnesses

Kapanlagi.com - Actor and politician Rano Karno is said to have received 700 million rupiah related to the procurement of medical equipment for a referral hospital in Banten Province in the 2012 budget. In addition, he is also alleged to have received 1.5 billion rupiah from the owner of PT Bali Pasific Pragama, Tubagus Chaeri Wardana alias Wawan.

Regarding this matter, he denies receiving the 1.5 billion rupiah and the 700 million rupiah. He has stated this in court.

1. Ready to Confront

"Yes, I have said that in court, it doesn't exist," he said when met at the Central Jakarta District Court on Monday (24/2).

Later, Rano also stated that he is ready to confront the witnesses. The judge also reminded Rano Karno of the threat of punishment if he does not convey the true facts.

2. Only Receiving Salary

"Yes, I am ready to confront. I understand (about the threat of punishment)," he added.

Rano Karno stated that he did not know about the allowance for certain officials related to project procurement in Banten. He admitted that he only received a salary and travel expenses during his tenure as Deputy Governor of Banten 2012-2014.
