"Now I've returned from umrah. It was 40 days. God willing," said Dewi Gita when met in the Tendean area, South Jakarta, on Monday (21/4/2025).
Dewi Gita herself cannot confirm whether she will wear the hijab permanently, but this wife of Armand Maulana hopes to remain steadfast. She wants to continue being a better person both outwardly and inwardly.
"If one is steadfast in body and soul, as a human who wants to be a good person and always the best," she said.
Her decision to wear the hijab was not planned far in advance. For her, this is a form of self-protection after performing obligatory worship.
"It's not like the umrah is obligatory, right? We have to keep everything for 40 days, so that the angels don’t run away," she said.
Regarding her clothing style, Dewi also mentioned the purple color she was wearing at that time. Apparently, her choice of color was not intentional because she was in a hurry. "No, this is just a coincidence. This is just a coincidence that stuck. Because this was last minute for shooting," she said.
The clothes she wore at that time were chosen based on the shooting rules and assisted by her assistant. Dewi didn’t think too much about her appearance as long as it didn’t violate the rules. "This is also what my assistant suggested that fits. I mean, it’s white again. It seems really strange, right? Well, let’s just go with this one and this one," said Dewi Gita.
