Kapanlagi.com - The figure of Titiek Puspa is not only known through her works but also her warm personality. The Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, Rano Karno, is one of the public figures who has personal memories with the late artist. He also expressed his deep sorrow over the passing of the great artist.
When met at Mayapada Hospital on Thursday (10/4/2025), Rano recounted his last meeting with Titiek Puspa before the legend was hospitalized.
"Yes, at that time Mama Titiek was already using a wheelchair, seeing some of her younger siblings or songwriters who were part of APRI, because music day was being celebrated," he said.
Even though she was already in a wheelchair, Titiek Puspa's condition at that time looked healthy. That is why Rano was very surprised when he heard the news that the legend was admitted to the ICU.
"Yes, I honestly was surprised when I heard she was hospitalized, especially since I didn't know for sure if she had a burst blood vessel; I didn't see any signs when I last met her," he said.
Rano even mentioned that at that time, Eyang Titiek still looked fresh and chatted normally, even though she had to go home earlier.

"Yes, at that time she was already in a wheelchair, eating normally, but it wasn't long after that, around 7 PM, she went home," he revealed.
As someone who has known Titiek Puspa since childhood, Rano also holds deep memories related to their time together in the film "Riwanaku", where he played the role of Eyang Titiek's grandson.
"Yes, I once starred in a movie titled Riwanaku, where I played the grandson. Because my mother is Lany Marlina, that film made me the best child actor in Asia in the 70s," he explained.
That memory makes the departure of Eyang Titiek feel like an even greater loss. However, Rano believes that the cheerful and laughter-filled figure like Titiek Puspa will always live on in the memories of the people.
