Rian d'Masiv Traumatized After Fire Burst Incident Almost Hit His Face, Immediately Clarifies to the Stage Crew

Kapanlagi.com - Rian Ekky Pradipta, or more commonly known as Rian, the vocalist of d'Masiv, experienced a shocking moment while performing with his band some time ago. In the middle of the stage action, he was hit by a burst of fire from an effect machine that was set up on stage.

This incident left a trauma and made Rian more cautious every time he sees a similar effect machine. The incident made Rian scared. He admitted that it was an experience he would never forget.

"Wow, that’s not just trauma anymore, I mean, now if there’s like fire on stage, I immediately think, is it going to burst or not. Definitely trauma," Rian said when met at the Le Meridien Hotel, Central Jakarta, Monday (25/11/2024).

1. Saved by the Leather Jacket

Fortunately, at the time of the incident, Rian was wearing a leather jacket that was able to protect him from the heat of the flames. "Fortunately, I wore a leather jacket yesterday, so it felt like it held up, I was still saved," he added.

After the event was over, Rian immediately took decisive action by gathering all parties responsible for the incident. He hopes that a similar event will not happen again in the future.

2. After the Event, Immediately Scold the Crew

"When the event was over, we immediately had a briefing, we called all the people responsible. This cannot happen again. You have to be more careful, more detailed in informing about the stage conditions," he explained.

As the vocalist of a band with a busy performance schedule, Rian understands that mistakes are sometimes unavoidable. However, he still emphasizes the importance of extra attention to safety on stage.

3. Angry Because of the Incident, Still Anxious Now

"Our performance schedule is quite packed, maybe we got tired, skipped it. Angry, quite angry after the show. But thank God, the important thing is we are safe," Rian expressed.

The incident left a feeling of anxiety every time he sees the fire effect machine on stage. To prevent similar occurrences, Rian is now more cautious.

"If I see something like that, I immediately step back a bit. So I’m kind of afraid of getting hit again. There’s still a little trauma," he said.

4. Now the Stage Manager Checks the Stage Safety First

As a form of anticipation, Rian and his team now pay more attention to stage safety. He mentioned that the stage manager always checks the condition of the fire effects before they perform.

"The stage manager always informs us, checks first, and then marks where we can stand. So it’s safer," he said.

Even after experiencing a bad incident, Rian continues his performance activities. He hopes this incident serves as a lesson for everyone to be more concerned about the safety of artists performing on stage.
