Richard Lee officially entered the prosecution stage after investigators handed him over to the Prosecutor's Office in a case of alleged violations of the Health and Consumer Protection Laws. This process was conducted after the case file was declared complete or P21.
The case began from a report by a Detective Doctor highlighting allegations of overclaim on Richard Lee's beauty products and services. After a lengthy investigation process, the case is now about to enter the courtroom.
Amid public attention on this case, an interesting fact emerged during the suspect's handover. Richard was not accompanied by any family members when undergoing the second stage process.
"Yesterday, there was his legal advisor. According to SOP, the Criminal Procedure Code, the suspect is accompanied by a legal advisor. There are two legal advisors accompanying him," said the Head of Intelligence at the Tangerang District Attorney's Office, Anak Agung Made Suarja Teja, when met in the Tangerang area on Monday (8/6/2026).
When asked about the presence of Richard Lee's family, the prosecutor's office admitted that they did not see any family members present during the handover."Yesterday, the family was not there. No one accompanied him," he said.
This statement also applies to his wife, Reni Effendi. According to the prosecutor's office, Richard only came with his legal team.
"Oh, there is none, we did not see any family members. Only accompanied by a legal advisor," he said.
Even without the presence of family, the transfer process went smoothly. The prosecutor stated that Richard was cooperative throughout all stages of the examination.
After the second stage process was completed, Richard was immediately placed in a Youth Correctional Facility while waiting for the court schedule from the Tangerang District Court. A team of seven public prosecutors has also been appointed to handle the case."The files have been submitted. We are just waiting for the court schedule," he said.
