The entertainment world was momentarily shocked by the circulating news stating that Haji Bolot had passed away. This information turned out to be false and was immediately denied by Rico Ceper, who is a close friend of the comedian.

Rico admitted to being shocked when he learned that the news was widely circulating on social media and chat groups. In fact, just a few hours earlier, he had just visited Haji Bolot's house.

"I got home at 8, at half past 8, opened my phone, and there it was. Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi rajiun. Someone copy-pasted from a WhatsApp group and put it here, copy-paste, wow. When did this person die? I just came from his house at 8? In his family, there’s nothing, no yellow flag, nothing," said Rico Ceper when met in the Gelora Bung Karno area, Monday (15/6/2026).

Out of curiosity and concern, Rico decided to visit Haji Bolot's house again the next day to ensure the actual condition.

"To be sure, on Friday morning around half past 7, I went to Mr. Bolot's house again. I met his fifth child, named Mpok Ade. When I arrived at his house, 'Thank God it seems there is no yellow flag yet.' I went inside, there was an alley to the back. Assalamualaikum. I met his daughter, Mpok Ade," said Rico.

From that meeting, Rico confirmed that the news of his passing that was circulating was just a hoax. The family also expressed disappointment with the information that spread without verification.

"'Mpok Ade, is that true? It's not true, right?' 'No way, Bang Rico, we were also shocked and regretful,' blah blah blah. So I posted part of it to help clarify that this family is praying, making efforts, being gossiped about strangely. And then it's not clear, just spreading it in WhatsApp groups, like that," he said.

Rico also reminded the public not to easily believe and spread unverified information.

"Hey friends, sorry this is not true. As far as I know, he's still sick, just pray for him. And then, hello, it's already circulating in any groups, it’s done. To be sure, I went to Mr. Bolot's house again," Rico asserted.
