Outside of his busy schedule as a public figure, Ruben Onsu actually has a very high concern for the world of education and social issues. He revealed that he has established a foundation in Sukabumi to provide free education for children in need.

For Ruben, there are many things in this world that he has experienced, but he is aware that there are still many people out there who are less fortunate. This realization drives him to prefer using his wealth for good rather than for personal luxury. He also explained his life principle.

"Yes, we have done many things in this world. Haven't we? Yes, but many people haven’t, many are less fortunate, still many," said Ruben when met in the Tendean area, South Jakarta, on Friday (1/8/2025).

Sarwendah's ex-husband firmly stated that he would rather channel his money to help others than buy luxury items. According to him, it is much more beneficial and valuable. He also revealed his reasons.

"So, rather than buying an expensive bag, rather than buying luxurious things, it's a waste of money. That's it. So it's better for me to use it for, uh, what, those who need it, like that," he explained.

However, Ruben also set criteria for the children he helps, namely those who truly come from underprivileged families and receive support from their families to go to school. He emphasized that his foundation is not an orphanage, but rather an educational institution.

"But they are also the ones supported by their families, you know. This is not an orphanage, but they are truly from families that are unable to support them," he added.

Currently, the foundation he established provides completely free education, covering everything from school fees to teachers' salaries. All operational costs are personally borne by Ruben.

He also explained the system that operates in his foundation. "Free. Everything. We also pay the teachers," he emphasized.

For the initial stage, this foundation focuses on kindergarten education with around eleven students.

Ruben hopes that if there is more fortune in the future, he can continue to develop this foundation to a higher level. He also asks for prayers for his good intentions.

"Approximately eleven. Kindergarten. Not yet. Yes, later insyaallah if there is fortune, we want to. If there is fortune, we definitely want to," he said.
