Kapanlagi.com - In a warm atmosphere, PERADI SAI held a social service event that was not just an event but also a moment to share hope. On May 2, 2025, the National Executive Board of PERADI SAI visited Pondok Bambu Prison, East Jakarta, to provide support to hundreds of inmates facing legal issues. This event was attended by the DPN PERADI SAI management, including Mr. Patra M Zen, Ms. Ana Sofa Yuking, Martin Patrick, and senior artist Adipura Prabahaswara, who also provided religious guidance.
The event was warmly welcomed by the Head of Pondok Bambu Prison, Ms. Nebi Viarleni. In her speech, Ana Sofa Yuking, representing the DPN PERADI SAI, emphasized the importance of solidarity among fellow human beings. Ana also reminded all inmates to remain optimistic and to have a positive outlook.
"This social service activity is a manifestation of our commitment to ensure that everyone receives fair treatment in the eyes of the law. Use the punishment you are serving as a stepping stone to become a better person. After being released, make sure to have a clear life plan," Ana advised the inmates.
On this occasion, Ana Sofa Yuking not only provided encouragement but also a profound moral message. She reminded that everyone has the opportunity to improve themselves.
"Never lose hope, because Allah SWT is the Most Forgiving," she stated.
This message serves as an encouragement for the detainees to introspect and better themselves during their time in detention.
Mrs. Nebi Viarleni, as the Head of the Detention Center, also expressed her gratitude to PERADI SAI. She stated that the presence of advocates in the context of social service is something that rarely occurs.
"Usually, advocates come only to perform their professional duties, but this time they are here to provide assistance and inspiration," she explained.
In addition to the sermon, PERADI SAI also provided legal counseling to the detainees. Patra M Zen, the Secretary General of PERADI SAI, representing the Chairman Juniver Girsang who could not attend, explained about the Legal Aid Law.
"The state has an obligation to provide a legal aid budget for the underprivileged," Patra stated.
This demonstrates PERADI SAI's commitment to providing free legal assistance to those in need.
Patra also emphasized the importance of advocates defending innocent detainees. "Advocates must ensure that innocent detainees are defended to the fullest extent possible," he asserted. This shows that in every case, justice must be upheld without discrimination.

Adipura Prabahaswara, a renowned artist who also attended the event, shared his experience of hijrah with the inmates. He emphasized that every person has the opportunity to hijrah and improve themselves.
"As long as there is a strong commitment to continue improving oneself, everyone can get a second chance," he said.
This social service activity is not just an event, but a tangible manifestation of PERADI SAI's solidarity with those who are struggling in the legal process. With the presence of advocates and community leaders, it is hoped that the inmates feel cared for and receive the moral support they need.
Through legal counseling and religious sermons, PERADI SAI strives to build legal awareness among the inmates. This is important so that they understand their rights and obligations in the legal process they are undergoing. Thus, they can be better prepared to face the future after their release.
With this series of activities, PERADI SAI demonstrates that advocates do not only function as defenders in court, but also as agents of change who care about the community. This activity serves as a concrete example of how advocacy organizations can contribute more to social life.
