Ruben Onsu Prepares for Compensation of Fraud Losses, Total Claim IDR 4.4 Billion

According to Machi, the amount of loss mentioned in the police report has been calculated including interest components.

"If in the report it's 3.5 but with interest and others it's 4.4 (billion), yes," said Machi Ahmad when met at the South Jakarta Police, Monday (24/8).

Machi stated that Ruben Onsu demonstrates good faith to resolve the matter through possible channels and is not reacting negatively to his legal status.

"From my client, Mr. Ruben, he also has good intentions and remains calm, patient, and focused on resolving this," he said.

Machi stated that the discussion with the reporting party revolves around the refund of compensation. This direction has become the main focus being prepared by Ruben Onsu's legal team.

"Yes, the focus is on the refund of compensation," he revealed.

Previously, Machi disclosed that the amount stated in the police report was IDR 3.5 billion, which then increased to around IDR 4.4 billion after accounting for interest and other components. Technical discussions on the refund are opened through communication with the reporting party.

2. Mediation with the Reporter and Restorative Justice

Ruben Onsu's legal counsel has communicated with the reporter's legal counsel, Ramzi, to seek a resolution outside of court. The approach offered is mediation and restorative justice.

"We prioritize resolution methods for mediation, restorative justice, and finding common ground," he explained.

Machi conveyed that this process was well received by the reporting party. According to him, both parties do not wish for the matter to end in incarceration efforts and prefer to focus on resolving the losses.

"We also do not want to be at odds asserting who is right and who is wrong; we focus on resolution. We will focus on moving quickly towards resolution in this case," he said.

3. Status of Suspect Ruben Onsu and Schedule for Further Examination

As part of the legal process, Ruben Onsu is scheduled to be summoned as a suspect on August 28. This agenda marks the next stage following the official assistance from the legal team.

Machi ensures that his team is preparing the documents requested by the South Jakarta Police investigators to complete the examination. Administrative preparations are being made to ensure the process runs according to regulations.

He emphasizes that the legal team will follow all applicable procedures while continuing to open communication with the reporting party to expedite the resolution of the case.
