Ruben Onsu Reportedly Refuses Assistance, Lawyer Provides Explanation

Machi stated that they have not yet received direct information from Ruben regarding the news of the refusal of assistance. "If he hasn't talked about it, then he hasn't talked about it," said Machi Ahmad when met at the South Jakarta Police Station on Monday (24/8).

Machi also expressed a personal impression of Ruben as a client. "Bang Ruben, from my several communications and conversations, he is someone who does not want to trouble others. He is a very kind person, I see, even when it comes to asking for help, he feels hesitant," he said.

Moreover, Machi mentioned that this character is often seen when discussing steps to resolve the case. Ruben's attitude, which is said to be reluctant to inconvenience others, consistently appears in various work conversations they have had.

"But he is trying, he is trying. Some contracts regarding that agreement are sometimes missing and need to be completed by my client. And that is the essence of Bang Ruben; he does not want to trouble others, even his journey, I only just found out suddenly he has already reached the suspect stage like that," he explained.

"If that’s his business, then it’s running but not too much, you know," he said.

Machi emphasized his client's commitment to fully take responsibility for the obligations arising from this matter. He also mentioned the possibility of selling personal assets as an option that is within Ruben's decision-making realm.

"That plan, let’s just leave it to Mas Ruben who knows, but he will definitely take responsibility. And there are several businesses, but we also don’t want to do a defense protection in this case, we are just focusing on the resolution," concluded Machi Ahmad.
