Sarwendah Clarifies the 200 Million Rupiah from Ruben Onsu, No Longer Giving Monthly Allowance

Sarwendah's attorney, Chris Sam Siwu, provided clarification regarding the alimony issue that has recently attracted public attention. According to him, there are several pieces of information that need to be clarified to avoid misunderstandings regarding the financial situation following Sarwendah and Ruben Onsu's divorce.

Chris revealed that Ruben has reportedly not provided any alimony for the past few months. He stated that this issue would be one of the topics discussed further in the complaint process to the Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI).

"That will later be our material at KPAI. For sure, Ruben has not been providing alimony for the past few months," said Chris Sam Siwu when met at the National Commission on Violence Against Women, Tuesday (23/6/2026).

He also responded to the news regarding the amount of Rp200 million given by Ruben Onsu, which had been widely discussed. According to Chris, that amount is not money used for Sarwendah's personal interests, but rather to meet various needs of the children.

"The Rp200 million should be understood not for Sarwendah. That money is for various needs, and Ruben has known this since before the divorce. So don't turn it around that the Rp200 million is for Sarwendah," he explained.

Chris explained that these needs include education costs, tutoring, and various daily needs of the children. He added that so far the payment system has been done through a reimbursement mechanism.

"The money is for the children's lessons and various other needs. The system is also reimbursement, meaning it is paid first, and then reimbursement is done. This also needs to be conveyed so that the reporting is balanced," he said.

Furthermore, Chris emphasized that Sarwendah never forced Ruben to give a certain amount of money. According to him, all the expenses submitted are related to the real needs of the children and have been known by both parties for a long time.

"Wendah never forced. Ruben already knows those needs. It is not Wendah who asks for or receives a certain amount of money for herself. All of it is related to the needs of the children," concluded Chris Sam Siwu.
