Shanty's Portrait Opens Up About Divorce Rumors, Reveals Reasons for Returning to Indonesia Without Her Husband

Singer Shanty has finally returned to her homeland after more than a decade living abroad. After marrying Sebastian Paredes, she chose to stay in Hong Kong with her husband and their two children. Now, after 12 years away from the Indonesian entertainment scene, Shanty is ready to entertain her fans in Jakarta.

Her return to Indonesia around early 2022 was a much-anticipated moment. Shanty not only brought a new spirit but also her two sons. However, what caught attention was Shanty's decision not to bring her foreign husband, Sebastian, with them. In an interview on FYP Trans 7, Shanty explained her reasons.

"Returning to Indonesia at the tail end of COVID. You all finished COVID here in March 2022, but in Hong Kong, it was still chaos. It exploded, ceu urang (as we say in Sundanese) I couldn't take it anymore," Shanty expressed with a tone of honesty.

Hearing the explanation, host Irfan Hakim couldn't help but tease Shanty, mentioning the presence of her husband. Irfan questioned whether Shanty's return to Indonesia was more due to her inability to face the pandemic or because of her husband.

"Pinch me...," Shanty replied while laughing, showing that she could handle the joke with a relaxed attitude. This moment demonstrates that even though the situation is quite heavy, Shanty can still see the funny side of her life.

Shanty also emphasized that happiness is her top priority. "What matters to me is that everyone is happy," she stated firmly. Her playful style was evident when she added, "I choose to be relaxed and happy."

Shanty's Instagram name has now changed to @shantyofficial, marking her return to the entertainment world with a new spirit. Since marrying in 2010, she and Sebastian Paredes have been blessed with two sons who further complete their happiness.

Sebastian, who works as an executive at a prominent bank, may still be in Hong Kong, but Shanty is ready to start a new chapter in Indonesia. With high spirits and radiating happiness, Shanty is back, ready to shake up the Indonesian music stage!
