Former Governor of Jambi, Zumi Zola's financial condition is not as good as before he was imprisoned. Nevertheless, as a father, he still tries to take responsibility by providing alimony to his children as ordered by the Court.

As known, Zumi Zola divorced Sherrin Tharia on August 12, 2020.

From the divorce, the South Jakarta Religious Court granted custody of the child to Sherin Tharia. Zumi Zola as the father is obliged to provide monthly child support of Rp. 20 million.

"Yes (20 million). That is according to the court's decision. Although the situation is not easy, as a father, I still strive to fulfill my obligation to provide for my children," said Zumi Zola, when met at the Corruption Court, Jakarta, Friday (19/3/2021).

Zumi said he never neglected his duty to provide for his two children, even though he is in prison.

"What is certain is that every month I always transfer the money. I always remind my family, my siblings, 'please transfer the money every month for the children's needs'," he said.

Regarding his ex-wife who is currently selling hijabs and cakes to meet their living needs, Zumi Zola appreciates his wife's efforts.

"It's also good, it must be appreciated. So we support each other (to meet the needs of the children). The important thing now is the children. How can we raise them and give them attention. Outside of the children, it's each person's personal matter," he said.
