Showing Goodwill, Warkopi Finally Apologizes to Indro and the Warkop DKI Institution

Kapanlagi.com - Warkopi finally speaks up about the feud with Indro Warkop. Warkopi officially apologizes to Indro and the Warkop DKI Institution for the commotion that occurred in Sawangan, West Java, on Friday (24/9) afternoon. The open apology was conveyed by Ali Juys, as the spokesperson for Patria TV, which oversees Warkopi's commercial activities. Not only that, there are several points conveyed by Warkopi regarding this matter, one of which is the apology.

"First, an open apology letter to Om Indro and the Warkop Institution for the commotion that has occurred," said Ali Juys. The apology is related to the turmoil that occurred between Indro Warkop and a group similar to Warkop DKI, Warkopi. In addition to copyright infringement, Warkopi is said to have no good intentions to ask for permission before conducting commercial activities.

Previously, the appearance of Warkopi caught the public's attention. This is because the three of them identify themselves as similar to the legendary Warkop DKI comedians. This has led the Warkop DKI Institution and Indro himself to criticize the group." Not a matter of appearance or similarity, Indro talks about intellectual property rights and the ethics of the group consisting of Sepriandi, Dimas, and Alfin.

Without permission, the three of them commercialize themselves in several private reality TV shows and create sketch shows on YouTube. Indro mentioned that Warkopi does not appreciate the struggle of Warkop DKI. Because it's not about claiming to be similar, Indro talks about the brand and the Warkop DKI Institution as the rightful and exclusive rights holder who has supported the children of the three Warkop DKI comedians, Dono, Kasino, and Indro.

"I don't want to completely stop the source of income. By Allah, by the Prophet. So, I want this to be a starting point for people's awareness of intellectual property rights," said Indro during a virtual press conference on Monday (20/9/2021). Indro also clarifies the difference between parody and plagiarism to educate the public that he does not prevent anyone from creating, but it must still be in line with ethics.

The popularity of Warkopi, who imitates the style of Warkop DKI, led the three of them to create comedy sketches on the Youtube channel Patria TV. Not only comedy sketches, but they also create content that includes commercials and promotional activities. After being reprimanded and satirized by Indro Warkop, the Warkopi team responded that they were formed by management and had obtained permission. They also claimed that they never claimed to be similar to Warkop DKI, but the nickname was given by netizens.

Being heavily criticized by netizens, one of the Warkopi members, Alfin, who is said to resemble Indro, also responded to the criticisms thrown at them. "Haters make me famous," he said on his personal Instagram live. His statement only made netizens even angrier with Alfin's contradictory statement.

After a long controversy, Warkopi finally issued an apology to the Warkop DKI Institution. This apology was given in response to Indro Warkop's objection to Warkopi's unauthorized commercial actions.

"We sincerely apologize if it is considered hurtful, offensive, or causing turmoil," he continued. Aly even mentioned that they will delete all Warkopi content on the Patria TV channel. This is in accordance with the conditions set by Indro and the Warkop DKI Institution.

"Regarding the open discussion that was previously conveyed by Mr. Indro. With good intentions and seriousness, we have taken down all our Warkopi content. We will also temporarily stop on television, out of respect," he said. According to him, this is a gesture of goodwill from Warkopi's management to cease all commercial activities in the entertainment industry. It is done out of a desire not to harm the struggle of Warkop DKI and Indro.

We have also temporarily stopped airing on television, as a sign of respect," he said. According to him, this is a gesture of goodwill from Warkopi's management to cease all commercial activities in the entertainment industry. This is done out of a desire to not harm the struggle of Warkop DKI and Indro.
