Kapanlagi.com - Jakarta Metro Police are attempting mediation in relation to the alleged embezzlement case involving NOAH band personnel, David Kurnia Albert Dorfel. Unfortunately, David could not attend the scheduled mediation at the Jakarta Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit on Monday (30/8/2021).
According to the Head of Public Relations of the Jakarta Metro Police, Commissioner Pol Yusri Yunus, the mediation was only attended by Lina Yunita as the complainant accompanied by her legal counsel. Meanwhile, David was only represented by his legal counsel.
"The complainant has come with her legal counsel. But D (David Noah) is not present. He is only represented by his legal counsel," said Yusri Yunus at the Jakarta Metro Police on Monday (30/8/2021).
Yusri stated that David's absence was not without reason. The keyboardist of the NOAH band provided evidence that he could not attend.
"Brother D is currently sick. He showed his medical certificate to the investigator through his legal counsel," he said.
The police hope that from this meeting, both parties can find common ground for reconciliation.
"Our hope is that through this mediation, there will be a settlement with the condition that the complainant's money is returned. If there is an agreement, we will pursue restorative justice," said Yusri Yunus.
As known, the case involving David began when David and his two friends asked for assistance from Lina Yunita, the reporter, to fund a shipbuilding project at his company, PT A, in 2019 worth 1.15 billion.
David and his two friends promised to return the money within 3-6 months. However, until the agreed deadline, David and his two friends have not returned the money.
As a result, David and his two friends were reported to the Metro Jaya Regional Police. The report against David is registered with Number: LP/B/3761/VII/2021/SPKT Metro Jaya Regional Police dated August 5, 2021. David and his friends are reported under Article 372 of the Criminal Code and Article 378 of the Criminal Code.
