Sienna Removes Hijab, Ben Kasyafani States Marshanda Not Involved

The news regarding Sienna Ameerah Kasyafani's decision to appear without a hijab has sparked various reactions from netizens. In response to this, Ben Kasyafani has finally provided a firm clarification to correct public assumptions that implicate certain parties, especially his ex-wife, Marshanda aka Caca.

Ben regrets the narrative that attempts to find a scapegoat for his daughter's appearance choice, who is now 13 years old. He emphasizes that his communication with Marshanda is very good, especially in supporting Sienna's transition from childhood to adolescence.

"If I may correct, the most wrong thing is to corner, what is it called, important adults, the important people, who are adults to make Sienna outside of what she does that is good," said Ben Kasyafani when met in Pondok Bambu, East Jakarta, Sunday (4/5/2026).

"The outside is good like that. No, not at all. Caca and I communicate very well. She becomes someone who is very, what do you call it, supportive of each other. Caca and I. So, everything is purely about Sienna, not about her parents," added Ben.

The man who started his career as a VJ emphasizes that there is no coercion or negative influence from Marshanda regarding Sienna's decision. On the contrary, Ben and Marshanda often sit together to discuss their child's mental development and desires very intensively.

"Always, always, whatever we always share with Caca. We always discuss very intensely during the times that need to be discussed. There are no boundaries," said Ben.

For Ben, seeing Sienna in her transition phase requires calmness, not controversy on social media. He understands that Sienna's change in appearance has become a topic of conversation, but he asks the public not to blame the parenting style they have implemented.

"It started to get busy, a lot of people were talking, I was also a bit nervous. Nervous means this, when dressed nicely people are okay, but suddenly, the name of the child who is thirteen years old, right, she is in a transition to being a girl. Then I was worried it would just become a controversy. But fortunately, it hasn't been too much. Everyone is giving support," said Ben Kasyafani.

Ben also reminisced about when Sienna first decided to wear a hijab, which came from her personal desire. Now, when the child is experiencing different inner turmoil, Ben feels his duty is to listen and accompany her without judgment.

"Yes, it was at the right age and at the most exciting time. But no, everyone is supportive. It means there’s nothing unusual about it. But when she decided to wear the hijab, if I'm not mistaken, it was two weeks before her period. So it really came from her," concluded Ben Kasyafani.
