The star of the TV series Preman Pensiun admitted that what he did was to pay off his debt to his wife, Karina Ranau. Epy said that Karina Ranau also helped with the medical expenses while he was suffering from brain cancer.

"To pay off the debt, I paid it to my wife. When I was sick, there were a lot of expenses. Now I am collecting again to redeem the lost farm," said Epy Kusnandar.

Although Epy Kusnandar received support from his close friends after deciding to sell at a food stall, he admitted that there were also criticisms and belittling views because as an actor, he sells at a food stall.

"Yes, all kinds of things, there are those who sneer, insult, belittle, but there are also many who support. So, I just accept it, whatever people's opinions are," he said.

However, Epy Kusnandar remains grateful and maintains his spirit in living as a food vendor in the Kalibata apartment canteen, South Jakarta.

"Yes, be grateful, don't lose hope, fight, work hard, God willing, you will receive a fair reward," said the man who is now 59 years old.

Meanwhile, Epy Kusnandar's wife, Karina Ranau, revealed that she doesn't feel ashamed to see her husband selling in a food stall. According to her, the most important thing is that her husband's work is halal and does not harm others.

"If we steal, we bother others and feel ashamed. But if we work with sincerity, we can do everything correctly, even if it's just a little, as long as it's halal and blessed," said Karina.
